A holistically healthy community of incarnational ministers (children, youth, and families) that live out the love and life of CHRIST to others.

Our goal is to transform the community through the love of God. We achieve this by establishing mentorship relationships and equipping people with tools to lead healthier and more Godly lives.
We provide various services to support our community, including pastoral counseling and mentorship, prevention programs and seminars, and support groups.

Our founder, Gil Contreras, is thrilled to welcome his wife, Lupe Contreras, to the SEED Urban Ministries team. Lupe has over 30 years of experience in the corporate world and is now leveraging her business expertise to help others through life coaching. She has also received extensive training from the American Association of Christian Counselors. Lupe is eager to use her knowledge to assist individuals in finding vision and direction for their lives, providing them with actionable steps to pursue their goals and dreams.
Across our communities, brokenness from domestic violence, addiction, and generational trauma has left many individuals and families isolated— their God-given potential stifled by pain and instability. Yet it’s in this very hard ground that SEED Urban Ministries takes root. We are driven to address these issues not as separate crises, but as interconnected challenges to personal and communal flourishing.
Our calling is to Strengthen, Empower, Educate, and Develop—the heart of everything SEED stands for. Through Christ-centered mentoring, pastoral counseling, family crisis interventions, prevention programs, seminars, and support groups, we come alongside people in every stage of life, helping them rediscover purpose and hope.
Our Best Practices Prevention Programs, like the Alcohol Literacy Challenge, equip youth and adults with tools to make informed decisions about substance use, breaking the cycles that often devastate families. Through our family wellness seminars, pastoral counseling, and crisis intervention ministry, parents and children receive the immediate care and guidance needed to navigate conflict, rebuild trust, and establish lasting peace in their homes. Our mentorship initiatives pair caring Christian leaders with individuals ready to grow—whether overcoming addiction, healing from abuse, or seeking direction.
Stories of transformation are what fuel our hope. When a mother once weighed down by fear learns to nurture safety and love in her home, or a young man battling addiction finds new purpose through mentorship, we see firsthand the healing power of God at work. Every restored life strengthens the community around it, radiating stability, love, and faith that multiplies outward.
At SEED, we believe that when families flourish, neighborhoods flourish. Guided by our core values—God, Family, and Community—we cultivate spaces where every person is seen not for their struggles, but for who God created them to be. Through family crisis interventions and long-term support, we walk with families as they move from chaos to clarity, from brokenness to belonging.
We long to see vibrant families who embody love, wholeness, and faith for generations to come, shining Christ’s compassion throughout their communities.
